9 hours/wk, paid as Level 3 on the “Clerks – Private Sector Award” ($30.69/hr)

  • 5 hours must be worked 11am-4pm Tuesdays
  • 4 hours to be negotiated but ideally including Thursdays 2pm-3pm.

The role will be offered as a 2-year contract, to match church funding.

Applicants must already have residency or rights to live and work in Australia.

Position Description

Food For Life

  • Support the pastoral outreach and culture of the Food For Life program, including responding positively to client requests for prayer. Respond positively to clients in their personal circumstances, including sensitivity to cultural, linguistic and mental health needs.
  • During the program, allocate roles to volunteers and assist as needed with check in, check out, hospitality and re-stocking, set up and pack up, while contributing to a welcoming gospel-oriented atmosphere.
  • Keep admin paperwork and business tracking logs up to date, including cash handling and receipts balancing.
  • Ordering replacement stock from Foodbank, including liaising with BaptistCare and Foodbank; shopping from supermarket
  • Re-stocking shelves including pricing items.

Church Administration

  • Set up the weekly service slides in ProPresenter.
  • Prepare the weekly church service paperwork.
  • Maintain contacts and weekly attendance in Planning Center
  • Other related duties as requested by the Rector.

Other requirements

  • 2 weeks annual leave must be taken during the Dec/Jan FFL shutdown.
  • Need to obtain full Safe Ministry clearance to employee level, including Ochre card and police check.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience in an administration role
  • Ability to create documents and use databases on a Mac, including understanding Google Drive, email, Powerpoint and basic data entry.
  • Strong numeracy skills for managing cash, invoices and receipts.
  • Ability to work sensitively with people from diverse cultural, linguistic and mental health backgrounds, within our Christian culture & ethos.
