About the Role
We are seeking a Therapeutic Group Facilitator to join our Family Violence Program (FVP) team on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE / 2 days per week). The role is primarily based in Box Hill, with occasional work at our Burwood East site.
You will play a key role in delivering group-based therapeutic support to adult victim-survivors of family violence, with a focus on trauma-informed, psycho-educational recovery. You’ll also support our Family Violence Case Worker with intake and case management tasks where needed.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and co-facilitate weekly therapeutic and psycho-educational group programs for adult victim-survivors of family violence
Collaborate with co-facilitators and volunteers to create safe, supportive group environments
Assess and monitor ongoing safety concerns, contributing to safety planning where necessary
Maintain accurate case notes and complete related administrative tasks
Support intake processes and short-term case management in collaboration with the Family Violence Case Worker
Contribute positively to team culture, participate in reflective practice, and attend professional development and supervision
Key Program Focus
Courage to Heal: a year-long recovery program for women impacted by intimate partner violence
Short-term specialist groups (e.g., child-parent bonding, child-centred programs, art therapy)
Wraparound case management support
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or a similar therapeutic field (required)
Minimum 3 years' experience in delivering therapeutic support (group or individual)
Demonstrated experience working with victim-survivors of family violence
Understanding of trauma-informed care, safety planning, and group dynamics
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Alignment with Christian values and a commitment to caring for vulnerable people with dignity and respect
Location & Classification
Based at Box Hill, with occasional work at Burwood East
Salary and conditions per Health Professionals and Support Services Award (HPSSA) Level 2
