Are you passionate about Christian education and eager to make a meaningful impact across a national network of schools? Christian Education National (CEN) is looking for visionary and servant-hearted leaders to join our growing team in the following part-time executive roles:

  • Manager of Leadership Development
  • Manager of Consulting Services
  • Manager of Governance

Each position is 0.5 FTE (negotiable), with flexibility around location — ideally based on the East Coast of Australia.

Applicants are welcome to apply for one or more roles depending on skills and interests, and FTE is flexible to suit the right candidates.

The CEN National office is located in Springwood NSW, however this role can be completed from alternate locations (preference towards a Greater Sydney or Melbourne location).

Manager of Leadership Development (0.5 FTE)

This role is designed to equip and empower leaders at every level across CEN member schools, while cultivating a sustainable pipeline of emerging leaders. The Manager of Leadership Development will collaborate closely with State Executive Officers, senior school leaders, and a network of consultants to deliver impactful leadership development programs. At CEN, we are deeply committed to nurturing and supporting leaders who will faithfully advance the mission of Christian education for generations to come.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key CEN staff to implement leadership development programs targeting junior, middle, and senior management levels within CEN schools.
  • Lead the ongoing development of the Coram Deo Leadership program, focused on senior executive leaders.
  • Develop and implement robust monitoring and feedback systems to assess the effectiveness of leadership programs at all levels.
  • Actively monitor and identify emerging leaders within CEN schools.
  • Establish mentoring and coaching structures to support leaders across the CEN network.
  • Serve as a key member of the CEN Senior Leadership Team.

Manager of Consulting Services (0.5 FTE)

This role is focused on strengthening and expanding CEN’s consultancy services. As Manager of Consulting, the successful candidate will collaborate with State Executive Officers, senior school leaders, and a trusted network of consultants to shape a robust, value-driven consultancy model that delivers meaningful impact for member schools and contributes to the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build on and enhance the current consultancy framework at CEN, streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency.
  • Recruit and onboard a diverse team of consultants.
  • Engage with senior school leaders to assess their needs, introduce relevant consultancy services, and tailor solutions that address specific challenges within their institutions.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to measure the success and impact of consultancy services.

Manager of Governance (0.5 FTE)

The Manager of Governance at Christian Education National (CEN) plays a critical role in strengthening the governance capacity of Christian school Boards. This position is responsible for supporting Boards with expert guidance on governance practices, regulatory requirements, and policy updates to ensure compliance and effectiveness in managing their schools. The role encompasses training, advisory services, and conflict resolution while maintaining resources that reflect best practices in Christian school governance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a point of contact for guidance on issues including governance processes, policy clarification, and board role definitions.
  • Develop, maintain, and update a comprehensive suite of training materials tailored to meet the unique needs of Christian school Boards.
  • Keep Boards informed of the latest developments and regulatory changes affecting school governance.
  • Facilitate high-quality training sessions for Boards, focusing on core governance principles, fiduciary duties, compliance, and Board roles and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with external legal advisors as required to support Boards on legal governance issues.
  • Provide fee-for-service consulting to assist Boards with the development, review, and updating of governance policies or other governance projects.
