Mitcham Baptist Church (MBC) has for many years had a strong commitment to nurturing people of all ages on their faith journey, providing healthy pastoral care and various discipleship opportunities. MBC remains dedicated to the ongoing health and flourishing of youth and young adults within both the church and wider community. MBC is a diverse church of multiple ethnicities and generations ranging from newborn to Seniors. We have enjoyed the strong engagement of a committed group of youth and young adults, and we wish to continue strengthening these ministries with intentional pastoral leadership.

Having recently farewelled our previous Youth & Young Adults Pastor, MBC finds itself in the exciting position to be searching for a new Youth & Young Adults Pastor. The purpose of the position is to nurture youth and young adults in their walk with God by developing comprehensive, well-balanced Biblical instruction and growth opportunities, equipping them to lead other youth and young adults to Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Duties include such things as providing leadership to all aspects of the Youth Ministry (including Friday night Youth Group and Sunday morning Bible Study), overseeing the Young Adult Small Groups and social events, helping coordinate and run Sunday PM services and providing pastoral care across these two ministry areas for both the English and Chinese congregations. This role will be supported by various leaders across all congregations and will report directly to the Associate Pastor.

We are searching for an individual who feels called to what is a 3 day-week (0.6FTE) paid position. The actual spread of work hours across the week will be determined in consultation with the Associate Pastor and to the satisfaction of Church Council.
