Woolooware Shores is an Anglicare Retirement Village of 440 residents and a staff team of 70. It is planned that this will increase to 550 residents and over 80 team by the end of 2025.

At present it has a Pastoral Team of five, including three full-time chaplains. This position is funded jointly by the Woolooware Shores Chapel Community and Anglicare through a Parish Partnership with St Philips Caringbah.

Two of the chaplaincy positions are employed as Parish Partnership chaplains with St Philips Caringbah and are licensed to the Senior Minister at St Philips. The overall goal of the Pastoral Team is to assist Anglicare to build communities of care, where people feel they are loved, they matter, and that they belong.

The successful candidate will be preferably an ordained priest or deacon of the Anglican Church of Australia, Diocese of Sydney. They will work collaboratively with the other members of the Pastoral Care team to show and share the love of Jesus throughout the village community.

The role will involve

• pastoral care of village residents and their families
• pastoral care of village staff and their families
• preaching and leading across the 2 village Sunday chapel services and a monthly Thursday chapel service
• reflecting on and initiating appropriate ministry across the village, in conjunction with the rest of the Pastoral Team and the Chapel Committee
• participation in other Anglicare activities as required

• ability to shift from one ministry context to another quickly and naturally
• This role is conducted wholly at Woolooware Shores Retirement.
