Chef (casual)

Crossway Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and experienced Casual Chef to join our warm, vibrant team. Located within our Burwood East site, our café exists to create a welcoming space for our church community and visitors, serving high-quality food and beverages with excellence and heart.

About the role

As a chef at Crossway Café, you'll work in a faith-filled, team-oriented environment where you'll be responsible for food preparation, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to a positive, Christ-centred workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to café menu and seasonal offerings

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety

• Assist in menu planning and specials

• Work collaboratively with café staff and volunteers

• Support a warm, welcoming environment for customers

• Relevant kitchen experience and/or chef qualification

• Passionate about food and service

• Able to work well under pressure and in a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Alignment with Crossway’s Christian values and mission
