The Victorian team is seeking an experienced and spiritually mature Church Development Consultant to undertake consultancy engagements with individual churches across Victoria. This role involves working collaboratively with church leadership and congregations to assess health, discern God's leading, and develop strategic plans for revitalisation and growth.
Conduct comprehensive health reviews to identify key challenges and barriers within the church.
Facilitate discernment processes to help churches envision their future and create actionable plans.
Provide support in overcoming stagnation, conflict, and cultural challenges, guiding churches through revitalisation phases.
Develop and deliver detailed reports with tailored recommendations for each church.
Collaborate with the Partners in Ministry team to refine consultancy approaches and share insights.
A deep and active Christian faith, with a strong commitment to the local church.
Significant and proven consultancy experience.
Strong network relationships and positive regard across denominations.
At least a decade of experience in church leadership, ministry, organisational development or para-church organisation.
Proven ability to lead and facilitate group processes with wisdom, sensitivity, and confidence.
Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
Emotional intelligence, spiritual maturity, and a non-anxious presence.
Willingness and ability to travel for on-site church engagements.
Familiarity with a range of church traditions and theological perspectives is a plus.
Confidence to cold-call and create a pipeline of work opportunities.
Coaching training and a willingness to study pastoral supervision if required, at your own cost. You may be required to do some 1:1 work.
This role is part-time and may suit those who desire a bi-vocational model of ministry.
Consultancy engagements vary in length and focus depending on the needs of each church. It will involve the occasional week night and/or potentially weekends.
Training and orientation in Partners in ministry's consultancy approach will be provided to enhance your pre-existing experience and capacity.
