Irfan College is a co-educational, independent Islamic school located in the Southwest Sydney suburb of Cecil Park. The College was established in 2013 and is a single-stream school servicing Kindergarten to Year 12 students.

The Position:

Irfan College is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Deputy Principal to lead our comprehensive Student Services and Wellbeing Team. This pivotal role will see you championing student wellbeing, developing innovative support programs, and overseeing all aspects of student services to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all.
The Deputy Principal (DP) will report directly to the Principal and support the Principal in the leadership of the college. The Deputy Principal is also delegated to exercise direct responsibility in specifically designated areas, including teaching and learning, policy development, staff and professional development, whilst collaborating with Executive Members, as necessary.
The commencement of the position is for Term 4, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and mentor the Student Services Team that includes the Wellbeing Team, counsellors, chaplains, and student support staff.
Develop, implement, and evaluate whole-school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
Oversee student welfare, behaviour management, and restorative practices.
Manage student enrolments, attendance, and record-keeping.
Design and develop timetables and duty rosters.
Liaise with parents, external agencies, and the wider community to support student needs.
Manage the strategic implementation of the whole school student wellbeing program and events.
Contribute to the strategic leadership and overall management of the school.
Criteria:
Knowledge of and commitment to the Islamic ethos and mission of the school.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an educational setting, with a strong focus on student wellbeing.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
A deep understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience in managing complex issues relating to student wellbeing.
Experience working in partnership with external health professionals.
Ability to manage the whole school implementation of key programs.
A willingness to contribute positively as part of a professional learning community.
Provide evidence of qualifications as a teacher in a specialised key learning area (KLA).
A willingness to teach.
Accredited with at least a Proficient teacher accreditation by the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA).
An Australian Citizen/have a current Australian Work Visa.
