Salvos Stores are looking for a number of suitably qualified individuals for the position of
Driver located at Fyshwick.
Reporting directly to the
Logistics Supervisor you will ensure the timely and accurate collection of goods from donor properties, clothing banks and stores, which requires you to deal directly with the public and evaluate and decline items that are not in a resalable condition.
About The Role
Working independently, you will you have excellent customer service, communications and problem-solving skills to assist you with;
- Loading/unloading - loose good including furniture items;
- Performing labouring tasks. Together with a jockey you will lift and carry reasonable weights;
- Distribution of goods to stores and assisting retail staff where required;
- Ensuring a professional customer relations experience for our customers;
- Using an electronic device to complete delivery paperwork;
- Maintaining safe WHS methods and driving practices;
- Completing prestart checks, reporting incidents, near misses and vehicle maintenance issues;
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle provided.
About You
Previous experience in multi-drop, courier or furniture removal, while highly regarded, is not essential. What is essential is good time management, reliability and a can-do attitude. You will be a well presented, high energy, hands-on individual and will bring your proven track record in providing extraordinary customer service to the role. You will have experience in safe preparation, loading and unloading of goods. Importantly, as someone known for your integrity, you will also be comfortable aligning to The Salvation Army Mission and Values.
Applicants must be able to work with limited supervision and demonstrate;
- Minimum 1 years' driving experience operating a medium rigid vehicle (MR LICENSE)
- Current Australian drivers licence / Medium Rigid licence (or above)
- Confident driving skills and a proven safety
- Multi-drop, courier and/or furniture removal experience an advantage
- Reasonable written and oral communication skills
- Organisational and problem solving skills
- Right to work in Australia
