Blue Mountains Grammar School (BMGS) is a co-educational Christian School in the Anglican tradition for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. We are looking for a friendly, professional and highly organised individual to join our Senior School as a School Assistant – Music Department. This role is responsible for providing administrative support to the Music Department, including its Co-Curricular Music, Instrument Hire, and Music Lesson programs. This is a key support role within a vibrant and high-performing department, and requires someone who is proactive, adaptable, and confident in managing a range of administrative tasks while engaging positively with staff, students, music tutors, and parents.

  • 20 hours p/w during term time only
  • Based at BMGS Wentworth Falls campus
  • Salary in accordance with the Independent Schools NSW CMEA
  • Immediate start

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Music Department, including handling enquiries, organising events, and supporting music exam requirements
  • Coordinate scheduling, invoicing, and communication for the Music Lesson Program
  • Manage systems and communications for the Co-Curricular Music Program, including class setup and roll monitoring
  • Administer the Musical Instrument Program, including inventory management, hire processes, and maintenance coordination
  • Liaise professionally and positively with staff, students, tutors, parents, and visitors
  • Ensure compliance with School policies and uphold the values of Excellence, Innovation, Leadership, Courage, Accountability, and Community

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A proactive, friendly, and professional manner
  • Full Australian work rights
  • Current Working With Children Check, or the ability to obtain one
  • Current First Aid certificate (nice to have)
