Suncoast Christian College is a well-established pre-prep to Year 12 co-educational College of over 1000 students, situated on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

The College is excited to announce that we have a 0.6FTE fixed term opportunity available (Term 3) for a Secondary Humanities and Business Studies Teacher, teaching Year 8 and 9. The 0.6FTE contract will be spread across 4 days. Should you require fulltime work, the option is available for relief work in order to achieve fulltime. The role is available due to long service leave and staff taking on higher duties.

Duties and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

• Support the College’s Christian ethos, recognising each student’s individual potential and fostering their development,

• Plan, prepare and deliver high quality Humanities & Business Studies lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum (Humanities experience being preferred),

• Experience in teaching Christian studies will be highly regarded,

• Assess and report on student progress using a variety of assessment tools,

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and participate in faculty planning,

• Support the College’s commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and student well-being.

Skills and experience required:

• A commitment to the vision and Christian values of the College,

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills,

• Demonstrated experience teaching Humanities and ideally, Business Studies,

• Willingness / experience teaching Christian Studies is advantageous,

• Sound organisational and classroom management skills,

• Sound relationship building experience and the ability to connect authentically with students, parents and colleagues,

• Ability to inspire and engage students in a dynamic learning environment,

• Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
