THE OPPORTUNITY

Mt St Michael's College is a Catholic girls' school of 900 students (Years 5 - 12) situated in the leafy avenues of Ashgrove, 5 kms from the CBD. The College maintains a tradition of academic excellence, extensive co-curricular activities, and student wellbeing programs across the College. Mt St Michael's College seeks applications from innovative and dynamic educators who will enthusiastically engage with the educational vision and mission of the College.

In 2025 Mt St Michael's College established our Junior School with the commencement of our Year 5 cohort. With the expansion to Year 6 in 2026, we are seeking applications from energetic and innovative Primary School teachers to work collaboratively with the Head of Junior School and our Junior School staff.

The applicant should be an experienced primary teacher who will enthusiastically engage with the educational vision and mission of the College.  The College has two permanent, full-time teaching opportunities for Junior School Teachers (Years 5 and 6), commencing in January 2026.

THE SELECTION CRITERIA

SC1 – An understanding of and commitment to the aims of Catholic Education and the mission, vision and values of Mt St Michael’s College.

SC2 – Demonstrated excellence in teaching with extensive knowledge of contemporary pedagogies as they relate to the education of girls.

SC3 – Demonstrated effective practices in supporting student wellbeing.

SC4 – Demonstrated excellence in integrating digital technology into a contemporary learning environment.

SC5 – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents/carers and staff within a high-performing College culture.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

All applications will be considered, leading to a shortlist and followed by interviews with the Principal and other appropriate delegates.

Applications should be addressed to the Principal, Ms Sharon Volp, and include the following documentation:

·        A covering letter identifying your teaching areas and interest in the position

·        A document containing written responses to the Selection Criteria. This should be a separate document from the covering letter comprising a concise statement totalling no more than 3 pages

·        A CV outlining a Queensland Teacher Registration Number, qualifications and experience and the names and contact details of three professional referees.
