About the Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives through building strong relationships that help create sustainable tenancies. We are seeking a dedicated Tenancy Manager to join our team in Manningham and provide outstanding tenancy management and support for tenants living in our community.

In this role you will

  • Manage day-to-day tenancy operations across a portfolio of properties.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and relevant support services.
  • Maintain up-to-date leases, conduct property inspections, and manage rent accounts, rent reviews and income recovery.
  • Prepare accurate tenancy documentation and attend SACAT hearings as and when necessary
  • Manage complaints and support tenants facing high-risk situations in line with TSA policy and procedure.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by people who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of homelessness
  • An understanding of mental health and the challenges faced by tenants
  • Build positive, respectful relationships that support long-term tenancy success.
  • Engage in building a inclusive community through community development events.
  • Use sound judgement to assess tenant needs and develop appropriate strategies.

What you will bring

To be successful for this role, the ideal applicant will have a genuine passion to support vulnerable people in our community to achieve successful tenancies and long term housing goals. You will need to demonstrate that you have the capacity to engage with a wide cross section of individuals and an ability to prioritise workloads, a strong work ethic, a can do, caring empathetic attitude.

Key capabilities

  • Associate diploma with relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in tenancy, property management, or client support roles, with a strong commitment to housing outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and ability to interpret its legal implications for affordable and community housing.
  • Sound understanding of tenancy legislation (or willingness to learn), and confidence managing leases, arrears, inspections, and tenancy issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support tenants facing complex challenges with empathy and respect.
