Youth Ministry Director (26.6 hrs / 0.7 FTE)
We’re seeking a relational, Jesus-centred Youth Ministry Director to disciple students in Years 6–12 and lead vibrant, safe, and welcoming youth environments at RBC. You’ll champion our Discipleship Pathway—helping young people take their next step in following Jesus—by shaping Friday night gatherings, Sunday programs, and mid-week touchpoints. You’ll recruit and equip a healthy volunteer team, partner closely with parents, and cultivate a culture where Scripture, prayer, and community are at the heart of everything we do.
As part of this role is growing SRE (Special Religious Education) engagement over the next 12–24 months and strengthening school partnerships.
Working alongside our Pastor for Discipleship & Community Life, you’ll bring pastoral warmth and organisational clarity to build rhythms, events, and camps that help teenagers know Jesus, belong in His church, and live out their faith in everyday life.
The Role
Status: Permanent part-time (26.6 hours/week; evening/weekend work required)
Reports to: Pastor for Discipleship & Community Life
Direct reports: Youth volunteers
Spiritual Formation & Discipleship
Source or develop age-appropriate Bible teaching and discipleship content that aligns with RBC’s vision and preaching series.
Help young people take their next step on our Discipleship Pathway.
Programs & Environments
Lead regular youth gatherings (Friday nights, Sunday AM, mid-week).
Plan and run special events, camps, and seasonal activities.
Create safe, welcoming spaces that nurture faith and community.
Manage rosters and basic admin/comms.
Teach SRE weekly in local schools (or be willing to train and gain authorisation).

Agreement with the Statement of Beliefs and Basic Doctrines of the Baptist Association of NSW & ACT.
Desirable: training/experience in youth ministry or theology; SRE authorisation (or willingness to obtain); current driver’s licence.
Child-Safe & Compliance
Current (or eligible for) Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Completion of Creating Safe Spaces (or willingness to complete within 3 months).
National Police Check.
Agreement to RBC Code of Conduct and Safe Ministry policies.
Right to work in Australia.
