Christian’s Bus is a long-established, family-owned transport business with operations across regional Victoria.

We are seeking a commercially minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to ensure the financial strength and operational continuity of our business. This hands-on leadership role is central to maintaining stability, supporting strategic growth, and driving improvement across our systems and reporting functions.

Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, the CFO will lead the finance team and play a key role in providing reliable financial insights, managing debt and funding, and supporting high-impact projects — including contract adjustments, infrastructure upgrades, and business expansion opportunities.

This role will also drive the integration of digital tools and processes to enhance financial visibility, accuracy, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, timely, and accurate financial reporting — including monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts — accompanied by meaningful analysis tailored to the needs of internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership to guide performance optimisation, investment decisions, and risk management.

• Monitor and manage debt facilities, ensure covenant compliance, and maintain strong relationships with financiers and external partners.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning aligned with business growth and infrastructure needs.

• Support business cases, contract changes, and tender processes through data-driven financial modelling.

• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks through sound controls and proactive planning.

• Oversee the review and enhancement of financial systems, with a focus on automation, integration, and reporting efficiency.

• Ensure financial governance, audit readiness, and full compliance with accounting standards and statutory obligations.

About You

• CPA or CA qualified preferred

• 7–10+ years’ senior finance experience, ideally in a service or asset-based industry.

• Strong command of financial reporting, budgeting, audit processes, and compliance.

• Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly to a variety of stakeholders.

• Confident managing funding strategies, cash flow, and investment planning.

• Comfortable leading digital transformation in finance and championing process improvement.

• A clear communicator and collaborative leader with a high attention to detail.
