About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations across a multi-entity not-for-profit structure. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and providing strategic advice to support the organisation’s mission and long-term sustainability.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, the board, and external partners to ensure strong financial stewardship in alignment with our values and obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasting models

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including accounts, payroll, and audit processes

  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning and organisational growth

  • Ensure compliance with ACNC, ASIC, and relevant Australian financial legislation

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, board members, auditors, and key stakeholder

We are looking for someone with the following key competencies:

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, budgeting, and reporting—ideally within a not-for-profit or faith-based organisation.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyse financial data to inform decision-making and long-term planning.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Solid knowledge of Australian financial legislation, ACNC/ASIC requirements, and compliance frameworks relevant to charities and incorporated associations

Skills and qualifications

  • Qualifications in Accounting/Finance

  • CA/CPA qualified

  • Experience in the not-for-profit or multi-entity environment (preferred but not essential)

  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive, servant-hearted attitude
