About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations across a multi-entity not-for-profit structure. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and providing strategic advice to support the organisation’s mission and long-term sustainability.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, the board, and external partners to ensure strong financial stewardship in alignment with our values and obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasting models
Oversee day-to-day finance operations including accounts, payroll, and audit processes
Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning and organisational growth
Ensure compliance with ACNC, ASIC, and relevant Australian financial legislation
Build strong relationships with internal teams, board members, auditors, and key stakeholder
We are looking for someone with the following key competencies:
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, budgeting, and reporting—ideally within a not-for-profit or faith-based organisation.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyse financial data to inform decision-making and long-term planning.
Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Solid knowledge of Australian financial legislation, ACNC/ASIC requirements, and compliance frameworks relevant to charities and incorporated associations
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications in Accounting/Finance
CA/CPA qualified
Experience in the not-for-profit or multi-entity environment (preferred but not essential)
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive, servant-hearted attitude
